Event Description
If you want to know how changes in regulations will impact your electric bill, Dave Robertson, vice president of public policy at Portland General Electric, is a must-see at this month’s South Metro Leadership Forum. Robertson will be talking about how the changing regulatory environment is impacting PGE’s business and what this means for all of the utility’s customers.
Robertson oversees PGE’s Corporate Communications, Government Relations, Environmental Policy, Community Affairs and Research & Development departments. He joined PGE in 2004. Before taking on the role of vice president in 2009, Robertson served five years as director of PGE's Government Affairs department.
Robertson has 20 years of experience in the energy policy area. Prior to joining PGE, he served as director of government relations for Pacific Gas & Electric's National Energy Group from 1998 to 2004. Before that, Robertson was a member of U.S. Sen. Mark Hatfield's legislative policy staff in both Washington, D.C., and Oregon from 1990 to 1997 and then worked briefly as a consultant for Robertson, Grosswiler & Co. in Portland from 1997 to 1998.
He attended Willamette University in Salem and holds a bachelor's degree in political science. Robertson is currently president-emeritus of the SOLV board of directors and served six years as an Oregon Governor's appointee to the Columbia River Gorge Commission. He also serves on the boards of the Portland Business Alliance and the Oregon Business Association.
A native Oregonian who grew up in Portland and Washington, D.C., Robertson now resides in the Bethany area of Washington County with his wife, Lori, and three children. He enjoys biking, playing basketball, running and coaching youth sports.
